The long, sunny summer days and soaring temperatures bring out the boaters and water sports enthusiasts of nearby Lake Travis. In October, the town hosts Taste of Cedar Park, where you can sample food and local craft beer and see the unveiling of new sculptures for the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden. Temperatures cool down in winter, but rarely is there snow. In December, Cedar Park illuminates its 400-year-old Heritage Oak Tree with thousands of twinkling lights. The event features live music and an appearance from Santa Claus. The H-E-B Center at Cedar Park is a premier entertainment facility that hosts an exciting array of events throughout the year, including concerts and sporting events, so be sure to check for upcoming events that may coincide with your trip.

Lake Travis

Thirty minutes outside of town, Lake Travis spans 62 miles and is a magnet for water sports including stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skiing, and boating. If you want to really boost your adrenaline levels, you can also zipline across the lake. Nearby is an iconic, multi-level restaurant known for its spectacular views overlooking Lake Travis.

Brushy Creek Lake Park

A 10-minute drive east, Brushy Creek Lake Park features both paved and rugged hiking and biking trails as well as a 38-acre lake. Vibrant flower beds embellish the fields along the pathways, and the lake’s glassy waters make it ideal for kayaking.

Cedar Park Sculpture Garden

This open-air garden is nestled amid scenic walking trails and features an annually rotating display of sculptures that range in style, theme, and material, including aluminum, steel, and limestone. Apart from the garden’s permanent collection, the remaining sculptures are provided as a loan from Texas-based artists and are available for purchase.
