It is a house that was rebuilt in 1996 using the beam of a straw roof house.Why don't you spend a relaxing time in the living room of the plaster wall and the Japanese-style room of 8 tatami mats and 10 tatami mats as if you went home to the countryside with your family and friends? Looking up at Mt. Asama, the wide sky is filled with tumblers, the Ushida Space Observatory is nearby, and the air is beautiful. Starting with "Fuse Onsen" and "Kasuga Onsen", there are several hot springs if you use a car. You can also go to Karuizawa, Mt. Nobe and Kiyosato in a small hour by car, so you can climb to Mt. Yatsugatake and trek to Saku Kogen National Quasi-Park. It is a rice spot comparable to Niigata, local sake made with a thousand songs of water poured from Mt. Yatsugatake and Mt. Asama. There are "Pinkojizo", "Sueno Castle Toes" and "Nakajima Park" on the walking course. There is also a large supermarket "Tsuruya" in 15 minutes on foot, and a roadside station "Healthy Terrace Sakunami" in front of the Saku Minami IC, so you can enjoy local ingredients using home cooking utensils and seasonings. Located in Ohinoka, Karuizawa, about 5 minutes by car from Shinananaburai Station.The west and north sides are national forest, so it is a very quiet and calm place.

Sanson Terrace "off-grid tiny cottage"

In Ohinata, Sakuho-town, Nagano-pref. We built a small cottage at a mountain side of the natural woodland which separated for a while from the colony. The time flows graceful here, while the interval of farm labor or works in the mountain. It is a special time to have Coffee or Beer while looking at Mt. Morai on the other side. You can spend time, being surrounded by nature... reading books slowly, taking a walk the mountain, listening songs of birds while lie on a hammock in the forest.

A quiet forest/By car 5min to shopping/Long stay

The house is located in a hill of Old Karuizawa, yet within a 10-minutes from JR Station or ski resort etc. It's a cozy and relaxing house in the forest where you can see woodpeckers or squirrels. You will take tree shower listening to the birds chirping while you are in the house. It is a convenient place to go out for freshly baked bread and coffee in the morning, or out to dinner at one of the many restaurants in the evening. It is ideal for activities as well as for nature lovers.

Sanson Terrace "silkworm house"

Ohinata in Sakuho-town is a small village in a valley. I renovated a 80 years small wooden house by myself taking a long time. The building used to be used for raising silkworms by farms. It was our culture and industry to get silks in this area. You can have a calm time for having Coffee and beer, reading books, listening music... The village is surrounded by nature for hiking to mountains and rivers. Some local families live in around the house, so please stay like the village people.

It has a mini-kitchen and a drum-type washing machine, which are convenient for a consecutive stay. It looks an ordinary old farmer’s house in Japanese countryside but has a dynamic beams inside. It’s not a luxury type of house but you can see the original appearance of the old house. Experience the relaxing life of the farm village.

We have renovated a small wooden hut by woods. It stands on a plateau area over 1,000m elevation. When I was a child, my one of a dream was building my secret place like this by myself. And the dream had come true at last! I hope you remember your childhood memory and feel wooden warmth by handmade in beautiful nature. This is a best area for hiking in forests and visiting beautiful lakes. The hut is good size to stay for a couple and a family or single.
