Small cottage with charm at Øståsen in Vikersund. 40 min walk upwards from the parking lot. Here there is simple life without electricity and water. The road up is a nice trip, a bit heavy some lots. It is 17 kilometres to Rjukan, 25 kilometres to Gaustatoppen mountain and beautiful mountain areas. Beautiful views, plenty of sun. There is no running water in the cabin, but water tap just outside. Free wood for the wood stove. When there's frost and freezing temperatures, there's no water in the tap outside. Water must be collected from the host. Rowing boat is available for free. The house is centrally located in Hovin 350m from the convenience store, with hiking opportunities right outside the door, or 15 min drive to get to prepped ski slopes and mountains. Hovin is a village in Telemark belonging to the same municipality as the World Heritage City of Rjukan - a perfect location for a day trip! The driving time is 2h from Oslo, 1h from Kongsberg.
