What are Airbnb Host Clubs?
Hosts who join Host Clubs are more successful than those who don’t, according to Airbnb data. New Hosts who join a club are 86% more likely to complete three stays than those who aren’t part of a club, and members enjoy higher earnings and review scores, and better chances of becoming Superhosts.
As one Host puts it: “I enjoy having a network of local Hosts to share resources and ideas. The club also helps Hosts understand the changing rules in our county for hosting.”
What’s a Host Club?
Airbnb Host Clubs are communities of local Hosts who connect online and in person to ask questions, share tips, celebrate accomplishments, and discuss what it’s really like to host.
Groups are led by volunteer Hosts called Community Leaders, who start discussions and organize meetups and volunteer opportunities. Leaders also partner with Airbnb to share the latest updates and educational content to keep club members up to date.
All clubs use private Facebook groups, so you’ll need an account to join those conversations. Clubs also host meetups that are open to all Hosts. Some communities host meetups in person, while others do theirs virtually.
Above all, Host Clubs are a supportive network—a place to go when you need advice or just want to chat with other Hosts.
How to join a Host Club
All you need to join a Host Club is a hosting account on Airbnb and a Facebook account. There are more than 600 clubs around the world in 90 countries, so there’s a good chance you’ll find an established one nearby. If you live in an area where there isn’t a club yet, you could start a Host Club.
Once you’ve found your local club, joining is easy as one, two, three:
Go to the Facebook group linked on the map and send a request to join.
Answer the membership questions to help us confirm your hosting account.
Once your request is approved, you’re in.
Benefits of Host Club membership
Perhaps the most compelling benefit of joining a club is the opportunity to hop online and get feedback on your listing or ask other Hosts questions about hosting, whether it’s local regulations or the best cleaning service.
Because you’ll have access to meetups, you’ll also be able to meet Hosts in your area, which can lead to friendships and professional connections that you can rely on if an issue arises or you need a favor.
What’s happening in Host Clubs
Clubs have featured local businesses, created sustainability initiatives, advocated for short-term rental rules, and volunteered together. Meetups often result in special connections or community impact. Two examples:
The Host Club in Girona, Spain, invited a well-known interior designer to a Q&A session where members could ask questions about how to improve their spaces.
A team of Community Leaders in Panama organized a successful beach cleanup for their Host Club.
Facebook posts often present opportunities to share support. Examples from the Host Club in the Catskills and Hudson Valley, New York:
A Community Leader asks how everyone's hosting season is going and offers to brainstorm improvements.
A Host asks how to avoid double bookings.
A Host solicits recommendations for a local sauna builder and snow removal service.
A Host asks if anyone can accommodate a group of 10 for a week.
