Available only for storm-tossed locals and our helpers through mid-December during Hurricane Recovery. Send us an inquiry to request a stay. Reed's Roost is a cozy getaway with incredibly beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Located at the top of a steep gravel road on a ridge in the South Mountains of Burke County, this is mountaintop living at it's finest! After enjoying a stroll around downtown Morganton (which is open for business), soak in the hot tub with views off the back deck.

Relax with the family at this completely updated cottage built in the 1940s. Featuring two bedrooms with plenty of comfy relaxing area. Enjoy the backyard with a hot tub (inflatable), and night lighting. Grill on the charcoal or relax at the fire pit. Just in earshot of the apple orchard where you can satisfy your taste buds with a crisp fresh apple, apple cider slushy, or fried apple pie. Although rural this home is only 4 miles from interstate 40! Approx an hour from Asheville and Charlotte.

The Carriage House and city of Morganton have power and are ready visitors. This guest house sits behind a historic home in downtown Morganton. The 1920s structure has restored original finishes : a claw foot tub, vintage bathroom sink, and farm house sink in the kitchen. Downstairs features original wood bead board ceilings. Upstairs the ceiling was removed to expose the roof and beams. Two fireplaces keep it cozy - you'll have a lovely place relax and listen to the rain on the metal roof.

Sweet Downtown Digs

The decor is high end, colorful, and comfortable. The apartment is well appointed, and perfectly located at the corner of Meeting and Sterling streets in the heart of downtown Morganton. Within a block is Root and Vine Restaurant (my fav), Homer's Oyster Bar, The Grind Coffee Shop, The Courthouse Square, the movie theater, Brown Mountain Bottle Works, Catawba Valley Brewery, Pat's Snack Bar, Limbertwigs Cafe (my other fav), Kin Kin sushi, multiple banks, churches, and local businesses.

Welcome home! You get the entire upper, main floor. Owners live in walkout lower level, ready to respond to your every need. Great neighborhood for long walks. Nearby are grocery stores, restaurants, urgent care, fast food. 8 minutes to downtown Morganton, 1 hour to Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway, 40 minutes to Blowing Rock, 30 minutes to Hickory, 4.5 hours to the ocean. Kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with everything you could want for breakfast. Keurig coffee maker.

It has a queen bed, 2 sofas that fold open into twin beds; and 4-foot height sleeping loft with two twin mattresses. Covered deck; 3 small ponds; party pavilion . . Basic toiletries and linens supplied, as well as plenty of dishes and kitchen supplies. This is a non-smoking cabin! Please do not throw cigarette butts on the grounds. Several trashcans are on the property for your use.
