"De Gulle splendor" Vacation home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd , located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero " de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/ Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is above 1 large open space with no privacy.

Cities like Alkmaar and Enkhuizen are nearby, but Amsterdam is also not far away. How about a day of bird island Texel?! Schagen with all its restaurants and shops are 5 km away. In July and August, we only use Friday as arrival and departure day and the minimum length of stay is 1 week. Our house on de Koggeplaet in Elahuizen is really right on de Fluessen and by the harbor. From the terrace, unobstructed views over the lake. Also there is a terrace on the harbor and in the garden! Elahuizen is located in the middle of the water sports area of Friesland. A quiet place for sailing, cycling, hiking or skating! The forest and a golf course in Gaasterland are also nearby!

Nice chalet on family campsite on Terschelling! Central on the island and 1km from the beach. The chalet is atmospheric and fully furnished: equipped with central heating, dishwasher, combi-microwave, 2p 160x200cm bed and two 1p beds of 80x200cm. Outside you can sit comfortably with a view over the meadow. The chalet is non-smoking. At an additional cost, you can rent bath and kitchen linen and/or outsource the final cleaning. Tolke28 a little paradise in North Holland Tolke28 is the perfect place for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists, beachgoers and families with small children. You will be staying in a Pipo wagon with a private terrace. The car itself is not large (5 by 2 meters), but the associated garden is extensive and excellent. The wagon is in a beautiful spot. The bathroom and toilet are located in the farmhouse +/- 30 meters away. In the morning, you take your egg from the chicken coop.

Our love for nature can be found in the design of this sustainable chalet. You don't lack anything; simplicity and comfort go hand in hand. Despite the limited space, it is wonderful to stay here, everything is available for a relaxing stay. The cottage has a lovely spacious terrace and lawn located on the south. There is a nice sitting area with a view of a fantastic outdoor fireplace with pizza oven! In school holidays can only be rented per week with arrival on Fridays!
